Are you a student who is interested in a possible career in criminal justice?

The Lake County Sheriff's Office Youth Criminal Justice Career Camp provides students with knowledge and understanding of deputy training, criminal investigations, community policing, specialty units, operational services, special operations, court services, and detention center operations within the Lake County Sheriff's Office.

This FREE week-long academy is offered by the LCSO for teens between the ages of 14 through 17 and will be held during July of 2025 at a date yet to be determined. The daily schedule for the career camp will be from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Youth Criminal Justice Career Camp students will need to have a signed Waiver of Liability completed by their guardian(s) for their child to participate which will be completed and signed on the first day of the camp.
Applicants must be able to pass a background check to attend the Youth Criminal Justice Career Camp Teen Academy.
Upon passing the background check students will be issued and required to wear identification so that they will be able to enter secure buildings.

Our goal with the LCSO Youth Criminal Justice Career Camp is to educate as many students as possible about the exciting opportunities offered in the field of law enforcement.
When registering please select either “New Career Camp Student” or “Returning Career Camp Student”.
Student selection will be determined with priority registrations for “New Career Camp Students” and a waitlist based upon date of registration for “Returning Career Camp Students”.

Once a date has been determined for July 2025 registrants will receive notification of the dates and updated information.
