On February 27, 2020 at 5:30 a.m., the Lake County sheriff’s undercover narcotics detectives executed a search warrant at the residence of 210 East Chester Street in Minneola. This investigation began after the Sheriff’s Office received numerous complaints from concerned citizens.
The sheriff’s SWAT team was utilized to make entry into the residence and secure the scene. Once the scene was secured, detectives conducted a search of the residence, at which time street-level dealer amounts of marijuana, cocaine, crack cocaine, MDMA in a pill form, molly (MDAM in a powder form), and drug paraphernalia were located.
The main target of the investigation, 27-year-old Jabarta Moton, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of MDMA (molly) with intent to distribute, manufacture of cocaine into crack cocaine, and drug paraphernalia; his total bond was $23,000.
This is the eighth search warrant detectives have executed since January of this year with the assistance of the Clermont, Eustis, Leesburg, and Mascotte Police Departments. A total of 13 felony arrests and 1 misdemeanor arrest have been made, with additional arrests pending.
