Captain Darren Goryl
started his LCSO career as an Auxiliary Officer while attending the Correction's Academy.
After graduating from the academy, Darren worked four years as a housing Detention Deputy.
In 1998, Darren worked several months in the Detention Transportation Department before being reassigned
as a Classification Officer, which he held for six years. In April 2004, Darren was promoted to
Sergeant working in both booking and housing units. In June 2007, Darren was promoted to Lieutenant
and worked as a Shift Commander until January 2020 when he was promoted to Captain.
Darren earned his Masters Degree in Organizational Management from Phoenix University in May 2000.
Darren received a Bachelors Degree in Sociology from Rhode Island College in 1987.
Darren also was a graduate and a member of the 16th Class in the Senior Leadership Program in 2013.
Darren was a former Professional Minor Leagure Baseball Umpire 1988-1993.
Darren is a sports enthusiast and an avid golfer who enjoys traveling with his golf clubs.
