This position is responsible for transcribing incident reports from deputies via oral communication.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for taking reports from deputies.
Responsible for editing reports for spelling, grammar and punctuation.
Must print reports and attachments for distribution.
Input case numbers for each report into the computer system and indicate disposition of the situation.
Must scan all materials that are received to include paperwork for the Records, Evidence and Fingerprint departments.
Must assure all reports are recorded on digital recorders and logged into the daily log.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
Must perform miscellaneous phone tasks to provide information to various departments regarding cases.
May modify reports upon investigation and create supplemental reports.
May enter Arrest Affidavits and Traffic Citations into Spillman
May count reports in the Log Book and prepare a monthly statistical sheet.
May be assigned as UCR Clerk reading and counting all reports to prepare the monthly UCR worksheet.
May merge names in Spillman
May keep track of approved reports in Work Flow and making sure they are sent to the proper department in Spillman

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

General public to include private citizens, businesses and governmental and municipal entities.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES and REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid Florida driver's license.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
Must be able to comprehend and communicate fluently in verbal and written English.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
Must have basic computer skills to include word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Must be able to present a positive image in person and over the phone.
Must be able to type 45 wpm.
Must have excellent grammar, punctuation and spelling skills.
