This position is responsible for providing clerical assistance and performing general office duties to the department assigned in the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
Type correspondence, memoranda, reports, records, orders and other documents.
Data entry of correspondence and reports.
Assists the public over the phone and in person.
Does research of records and completes comparisons.
Prepares forms and letters.
Maintains department records and monitors/maintains office supplies.
May be required to do shift work.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
Operates copy machine, fax machine, calculators and various other office machines.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. At least one year of clerical experience is preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES and REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid Florida driver's license.
Must Pass CJIS certification when required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
Must be able to comprehend and communicate fluently in verbal and written English.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
Must have basic computer skills to include word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Must be able to present a positive image in person and over the phone.
