Emergency Tracking Kit
OVERVIEW:
Scent Kits are available free of charge from our Community Services division. In the event that a loved one with a cognitive disorder, a young child or any other resident who may be prone to wandering is found to be missing, Scent Kits can save a life.
HOW IT WORKS:
Each kit includes a sterile glass jar, gauze pad, evidence tape and a latex glove. Simply follow the enclosed instructions to collect a sample of your loved one's scent with the gauze pad, seal it in the jar with the enclosed evidence tape and store the kit in your refrigerator. In the event your loved one wanders away our Bloodhound Unit can immediately have access to their scent.

The Scent Kit may be obtained by contacting the Community Engagement Unit of the Lake County Sheriff's Office at (352) 326-8108 or by sending an email to commservices@lcso.org.
