OVERVIEW:
The Sheriff of Lake County, Peyton C. Grinnell, is sponsoring a Sheriff's Academy. The purpose of the academy is to build a better understanding between citizens and the police through education. Participants will become familiar with the operations of the Lake County Sheriff's Office and gain a deeper understanding of the problems facing the police and the community.

Students will tour various departments of the Sheriff's Office including the Lake County Jail, the Courthouse, Technical Services, and Communications. They will hear from specialized units such as the Dive Team, Investigations, bike and road patrol, mounted posse, along with S.W.A.T., driving, K-9 and firearms demonstration.
